Transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox who broke the skull of her opponent in a fight has advised Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero not to retire from football. Fox who transitioned to a woman and now competes in the female category of the mixed martial art gave the advice in ‘her’ goodwill message to Aguero as the player announced his retirement from active football due to a heart defect.
“I wish you well Sergio”, Fallon Fox wrote on her Facebook page. “I am sad you have chosen to retire from the sport you loved so much even though there are options you could have taken. It would have been great to watch you play in the female football league as a transgender athlete. The pace of the game at that level is unlikely to affect your health adversely. This is something I think you should consider. But I wish you the best in whatever you choose to do”.
Varying reactions have trailed the suggestion of the transgender fighter. A Facebook user wrote in response: “I don’t care what you call yourself. So far as you once had a d**k, I’ll still consider you as a man. You are a bloody cheater to fight with women in MMA. Don’t encourage others to be cheats like you. Aguero did the honourable thing to retire. Leave him out of your nonsense”.
Another Facebook user while commenting on the post said it is wrong for men to compete in female sports after claiming to have transitioned to a woman. “When you go through puberty as a man all the bone structures of a man has developed in that person. Men have bigger hands, broader shoulders and stronger bones. Transitioning to a woman does not remove the advantage that being a man had bestowed. It is not fair for these people to compete with those who were born as women”.
However the coach of the Barcelona female football team has said Sergio Aguero will be a valuable addiction to the team if he decides to heed the advice of the transgender MMA fighter. But YeyeNews.com is yet to get the response of the footballer as at the time of filing this report.
