The Director General of the World Trade Organization and former Nigerian Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has accused former American president Donald Trump for being behind the news of her intending resignation from the WTO. A close family friend of the DG told our reporter that Mrs Okonjo-Iweala has solid evidence that the former president was after her job. “She believes Donald Trump is the one fueling the rumour that she wants to resign because the former president wants to become the DG of WTO.”
A staff of the WTO who did not want his name in print confirm to our reporter that Donald Trump has been discussing his ambition for the WTO top job with some power brokers in the President Joe Biden administration. “Trump’s loyalists have been pressuring President Biden to support him to become the DG. They are trying to convince the president that if he supports Trump to become the DG of WTO, there won’t be any serious challenger to his second term bid from the Republican party and Trump would stop having campaigns all over the place”.
Meanwhile, the former president has denied any interest to become the WTO DG. “From president of the United States to DG of WTO? Fake news! I knew that woman cannot do the job, that is why I didn’t her nomination. But Sleepy Joe comes in and quickly approved her nomination. I wanted to appoint Ivanka for the job but for angry Democrats and fake media”, the former president said at a campaign rally in Michigan on Tuesday.
One of the aides of the former president further told YeyeNews.com that their priority now is to continue rallying the base in preparation for a return to the White House in 2024. “We can’t wait to return to the White House. It is important for us to Make America Great Again Again. This is the focus of Donald Trump and no one can distract him.”
