A former minister of aviation Femi Fani Kayode has once again switched his party affiliation. He joined the APC from PDP and was received by President Buhari on Thursday at the presidential villa. The news has elicited discussions about the political character and principles of FFK in particular and the Nigerian political class in general.
According to YeyeNews.com reporter, FFK appeared on a Channels TV live discussion program on Thursday night as part of an effort to explain the reasons behind this latest defection. It was all going well as an amicable tete-a-tete until the anchor crossed a redline to dare input a financial motive into FFK’s recent transfer to the ruling party.
Yeyenews.com reporter who monitored the program said other people watching with him were shocked by the outburst of the former minister in response to the anchor. When asked if his transfer to the current league leaders had something to do with finance, FFK lost his composure: “You must be a little monkey for asking me such ridiculous and absurd question… If you think I will feel embarrassed that means you don’t know me. Go and ask Baba Obasanjo – I don’t have shame,” FFK blurted at the TV host.
Yeyenews.com later found out that this reference to Baba Obasanjo is not unconnected to the time when FFK ate fufu and black soup from the former president’s palm while singing his praises to the heavens.
FFK recently transferred his party membership from PDP to the ruling APC in a move that many expected to have happened earlier. An anonymous said that the switch came “after about six months of prostituting with some key stakeholders of the party he had many times prior described as a den of devils and terrorist sympathizers.”
Another source told YeyeNews.com that there was no foul adjective in the books that FFK had not utilized to describe the party that he has now gleefully joined.
Another source who was a domestic staff of the former minister told our reporter that she had this suspicion that FFK, who she referred to as ‘Free Food King’, must have perceived a strong aroma of fufu and black soup coming from the kitchen in Aso Villa, so he wanted to quickly position himself at the dinning table so as to partake in the meal when served. When YeyeNews.com reporter asked her to explain the soup analogy, she said, “Are you not a reporter? Didn’t you go to school for that? Use your head!”
When pressed further, she continued in communicating cryptically, “Now that he has ‘Found Food'”, the source added with a wink, “I hope he is served ‘Kikia’ (quickly), otherwise he may just move back to the PDP sooner than many expected.”
