Never in living history has a mammoth crowd gathered to welcome their president. YeyeNews.com gathered that ndi Imo from all walks of life, home and abroad converged like myriads of fish to receive the best president Nigeria has ever had.
Professor Ihejirika told our reporter: “This visit is very important to us, to ndi Imo and Ndi Igbo as a whole. Again, the president has shown he loves us, that he cares about us, that the enemies are those rascals who are hiding under Biafran cause to unleash mayhem in our land.”
YeyeNews.com reporter, Adaku Oha, asked why he is so passionate about the president’s visit. Professor Ihejirika’s response is: “Did you not see the isiagu he wore? Did you not see his okpu nmenme (chieftaincy red cap)? Did you not hear him call the governor’s name with ease as if he was the one who gave him the name? It is obvious that the president is more Igbo at heart than Fulani. How many states have he visited to commission projects? Let me tell you, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the president. It was as if I was daydreaming. I’m so elated. This is a proof that Igbo presidency is achievable come 2023, that is if our boys behave themselves.”
YeyeNews.com asked some few young people who lined up on the street of Owerri chanting “Sai Baba!” One of them said, “My name is Suleman. My friends and I were paid 4,500 naira each, excluding my transport fare to do this job. This is the kind of wages I want to be receiving. Soft work. If I were in the farm, I won’t get this amount at the end of the week. I just pray we can be seeing this opportunity.”
Another lady who identified herself as Aisha told YeyeNews.com reporter, Adaku Oha, that she was hired by an unknown man to join in the group who danced at the president’s arrival and departure. “The money is good. Really good. I don’t think I have ever made such an amount in one day.”
Shops were under lock and key and YeyeNews.com interviewed some traders who half-opened their business units. Mr Kanayo has this to say. “It is the trousers for me. I’m only seeing this on social media. I don’t care about him as he doesn’t care about us the dot nation. Let this pretense stop. If he loves us, he will release our leader.”
Asked why he flouted the sit-at-home order, he said: “If I don’t display my wares, what will my children eat? We sat at home on Monday. My children will eat me if I still sit at home this Thursday.”
