Nigeria’s popular crossdresser Bobrisky will be ordained as a deacon on Sunday in a Pentecostal church in Lekki, Transformation Ministries, sources have revealed to YeyeNews.com. In the invitation sent to friends and associates by the popular crossdresser through his personal assistant, the ordination ceremony will be conducted by the senior pastor of church at their ultramodern auditorium by 10am on Sunday.
“What many people know about Bobrisky is just what he projects to the outside. Those of us close to him know that Bobrisky is a deeply religious man. He is a devoted Christian who is very involved in all church activities. So this ordination is not a surprise to us. We see nothing strange”, an associate of Bobrisky told YeyeNews.com reporter.
However, some Nigerians have frowned at the decision of the church to ordain Bobrisky arguing that the church is encouraging perverse behavior by the action. But to counter that accusation, a pastor of the church who pleaded anonymity explained to YeyeNews.com that the bible never barred anyone from coming into the church. Bobrisky is only a crossdresser and you will agree with us that what is acceptable to wear varies between cultures and prevailing believes of the age. So, it is not our duty to regulate what people wear. Our duty as a church is to nurture believers in the word of God and not to police their choice of dressing”, the pastor said.
In the midst of the controversy, the PA to Bobrisky has taken to social media to congratulate him for the forthcoming ordination. “Congratulations on your ordination. Your personality will definitely win more people over to the church. I call on Nigerians to join us in this auspicious celebration. Its going to be huge”, he wrote.
