A recording of a phone conversation between Pastor Chris Okotie of the Household of God Church International Ministries and the late Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has been exclusively revealed to YeyeNews.com. The recording was leaked to our reporter by an anonymous source in the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).
The exact date of the conversation could not be ascertained but the source said it most likely took place in February 2020. In the recording YeyeNews.com reporter could hear a voice that could be said to be that of Pastor Okotie was accusing the late prophet of marrying his (Okotie’s) girlfriend. Pastor Okotie claimed to be dating Miss Evelyn at the time she went to TB Joshua for counseling and the prophet took the opportunity to brainwash her into marrying him. From the conversation, which was mostly one-directional, Pastor Chris was hinting that he decided to become a pastor because of how he lost Evelyn to the prophet.
Though YeyeNews.com could not independently verify authenticity of the tape, however, sources both at SCOAN and Household of God confirmed that the lifelong beef between both men had a lady at its center. Furthermore, sources at SCOAN did not believe that Prophet Joshua knew that Evelyn was dating the then music star, Chris Okotie.
A source who is very close to Pastor Okotie believed differently, claiming that Prophet Joshua knew Chris and Evelynn were a couple. The source narrated to our YeyeNews.com reporter that “Okotie was dating Evelyn at the time he was still in the world. As a musician, he travelled a lot for concerts and usually took Evelyn with him. They were very much in love. On one occasion – around 1989 – when Okotie wanted to travel to Afghanistan for a concert organized to celebrate the Russian withdrawal from the country, Evelyn said she couldn’t go with him because she wanted to go see her sister who just gave birth. Okotie agreed. We later learnt that Evelyn took the opportunity to seek counseling and spiritual guidance from a prophet in the town were her sister lived. This prophet, who turned out to be TB Joshua, manipulated the impressionable girl to end her relationship with Okotie which she did. Prophet TB Joshua later married Evelyn.”
Among other things, this source also claimed that late Joshua told Evelyn that Musicians had no permanent home, that she and Chris were temporal, that Chris would come back to Nigeria with Afghan girl, that Chris was perming his hair, doing jerry-curl, walking around with a comb in his pocket for his jerry-curl and would amount to nothing.
The source said the hostile take over of Evelyn by Joshua seriously affected Chris Okotie and he decided to end his music career and go into ministry. He never forgave Prophet Joshua, not even in death, the source added.
When YeyeNews.com reporter asked why not, the source replied: “He has married two times and none worked out. He’s still looking for his Evelyn.”
Another source close to one of the “Wise Men” at SCOAN and knowledgeable of the happenings told our reporter that the affection between Pastor Okotie and the late prophet’s widow seem to have reignited after the death of the prophet. Indeed, there is serious murmuring among the hierarchy in SCOAN as a result of the increasing closeness of the pair, the source added. A security guard at the church premises told YeyeNews.com that Pastor Okotie’s Rolls Royce had recently tried to enter the premises at an odd hour only to be prevented by the personal guards of one of the “Wise Men” who were in the vicinity at the time.
A senior pastor at the Household of God International Ministry told YeyeNews.com reporter that a “pastor from the southeast who called himself ‘liquid metallic’ had earlier called to threaten Pastor Okotie over this matter”. He further said his boss will not relent in his mission because “every victor is entitled to the spoils of war. ”
“Nobody can deny us the sweet taste of victory”, he boasted as he ended the conversation.
